Pickling is the duty that proves non-metallic pump engineering: hot hydrochloric or sulphuric acid carrying dissolved iron destroys metallic pumps in weeks, while PP and PVDF wetted parts do not corrode at all. Plants that switch measure service intervals in years.
Circulation on the line, transfer of spent acid, and sump duty in the pickling bay are all covered — horizontal PP/PVDF process pumps for the lines, seal-less magnetic drive where any leakage is unacceptable, and vertical long-shaft sump pumps with PP wetted parts for the pits.
