Scrubber Circulation Pumps
Continuous recirculation of the liquid that eats the fumes.
Fume scrubbers recirculate their absorption liquid — caustic, hypochlorite, acid or water depending on the gas — continuously, for months between outages. The circulation pump is the scrubber's heart: when it stops, the plant stops meeting its emission norms.
The pumping challenges
- True continuous duty — 24/7 for months
- Absorption liquid chemistry drifts as it loads up
- Entrained solids from collected particulates
- Leakage directly undermines the environmental compliance the scrubber exists for
Material options
PP as the default — resistant, economical
PVDF for hot or oxidising scrubbing liquors
Seal-less construction where leakage is compliance-critical
Technical considerations
- Duty point must account for the scrubber's internal resistance, not just piping
- Continuous-duty bearing and motor margins applied at selection
- Chemistry drift discussed at enquiry — loaded scrubber liquid is not fresh reagent
- Spare rotating assembly recommended for compliance-critical installations
Honest limits: no pump material is universally compatible with every concentration and temperature of a chemical. Final selection is confirmed against your exact duty — that's why we ask before we quote.

FAQs
Common questions on this duty
A PP centrifugal pump, sized at the scrubber's actual resistance curve, running a caustic solution — PP handles both the caustic liquor and the acid carry-over that accumulates.
