Application Guide
Electroplating Chemical Pumps
Bath circulation and transfer in the most corrosive room in the plant.
Plating shops run their pumps in a fog of acid fumes, transferring and circulating chrome, nickel, zinc and copper baths, pickling acids and anodising solutions — often warm, often continuous. Metallic wetted parts don't just fail here; they contaminate the bath. Non-metallic is the standard.
The pumping challenges
- Corrosive fumes attack the pump's externals as well as internals
- Bath contamination from corroding metal parts ruins plating quality
- Continuous circulation duty with minimal supervision
- Crystallising solutions destroy conventional seals
Material options
PP for most ambient baths
PVDF for hot and oxidising chemistry
No metallic wetted parts — ever
Technical considerations
- Magnetic drive eliminates seal failure on crystallising solutions
- Filtration-loop duty points confirmed against actual filter resistance
- Share bath chemistry, temperature and SG for material confirmation
- Spare impeller and bush kits available for planned maintenance
Honest limits: no pump material is universally compatible with every concentration and temperature of a chemical. Final selection is confirmed against your exact duty — that's why we ask before we quote.

FAQs
Common questions on this duty
A PP/PVDF magnetic drive pump sized at the filter's actual pressure drop — filters add resistance that kills under-sized selections. Tell us filter type and flow target.
